Sparkly Valentine

Hello, everyone, and happy almost Valentine's Day!
I took advantage of the last bit of evening sun in order to catch a photo of my glittery Valentine nails.

This is an easy (if busy!) mani made with a base of Pure Ice Siren and a coat of Pure Ice First Party - a red glitter in a clear base.

I stamped this sparkly confection with Pure Ice Super Star using one of the heart patterns on BM 312.  The ring finger heart is from QA12.

Here's an indoor photo.

Well, Konaddicts, I hope you have wonderful plans for the special day.  Those of you who don't have plans can share it in spirit with me! :)  And, on a good note, all the Valentine's day "stuff" will be out of the stores very soon!

Catch you soon!

Hello Kitty: Glitter Kitty

Sorry for the light - I had to take these inside.

Hello, Konaddicts!  I've seen a lot of Hello Kitty designs using a red background.  It's been a while since I've worn a Hello Kitty mani, so I decided to try one out using red.

I started with Love My Nails Pomegranate.  I stamped kitty in white using plate B87 - a good, full sized Hello Kitty image.  I filled in that outline with a nail brush using Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Whirlwind White.

I stamped kitty in Wet n Wild Black Creme over my white circle and used a nail brush to fill in edges.

I did the accents next, using Insta Dri Lightening for kitty's nose and Kleancolor Metallic Red for her bow.

I was planning to use some glitter on my ring finger as an accent nail.  I decided this would be a perfect occasion to try out Milani Jewel FX Gems - a color I've been saving "for the right time" (you nail folks know what I mean!).

I added Jewel Fix to the accent nails, but I liked the sparkle so much, I had to add it to all the other nails.  I tried to polish around kitty.

Finally, used Konad Special polish in white and plate QA12 for KT design on accent nail.

Here's a view of them without the flash.

And one last closeup:

Even with the less than great light, it's obvious that these are my most sparkly kitties yet!

Take care, Konaddicts!

Strawberry Shortcake Inspired Nails

Did anyone else grow up loving Strawberry Shortcake?  As a child, I had Strawberry Shortcake curtains, a Strawberry Shortcake comforter, Strawberry Shortcake dolls, the Berry Carrying Case...you get the idea.  Well, that nostalgia for all things Strawberry Shortcake inspired this manicure.

I normally like to say that my designs are quick - it makes it seem like I have a super exciting life to get back to!  Unfortunately, I can't pretend that is the case this time!  This one took a little time and experimentation.

I began this little overdose of sweetness with a base of Essie Fiji.  I stamped the dots - which didn't all stamp perfectly - with QA 12 - in Pure Ice Siren.  The design of the bows didn't stamp well over the pink, so I stamped a line of Konad Special Polish in White using M19.  I stamped the bows over that using Konad plate M56 and MyOnlineShop stamping polish in Apple Green.

...and I'm not done yet.  So much for the appearance of a very busy and exciting life!

I stamped a strawberry on the accent nail using Shany SH19.  I used Siren for the berry and my Kleancolor Grass Green for the stem.

...and finally (whew!), I added green rhinestones to the centers of my bows.

What a sweet confection!  Too sweet, even, for me, I think.  At least when I look down, it reminds me of those little dolls that I used to love so much.

...and also just found on eBay.  Uh oh.  :)

Have a berry good day, Konaddicts!  - Sorry, I couldn't help myself!

Hello Kitty of the Month: Primary Kitty

Ooof - I'm not feeling well today, but I wanted take a moment to post my August Hello Kitty nails, so here goes!

The base I used is Love my Nails Angel, a pearly white.  I painted the tips with Love my Nails Pomegranate.    I stamped the plaid using MyOnlineShop's Yellow Special Polish and Konad M64.

To stamp kitty, I used Wet n Wild Black Creme and a Hello Kitty with paws from plate QA12.  I dotted in her bow with Kleancolor Metallic Pink.  I didn't like the pink, so I redid the bows with NYC Broadway Burgundy Frost.

Hope you like it!  Even upset tummies feel a little better when you have Hello Kitty nails!

Thanks for reading!

Fresh Watermelon Nails

Hello, everyone!  Apparently, I can not resist Sally Hansen Insta Dri Fuchsia Flare this summer.  When I look at my polishes, my hand is just drawn to this bottle.

This time, I found it to be a perfect base for a watermelon mani.  Fuchsia Flare is the base color.  I freehanded the tips in Pure Ice Siren (it took two coats to make sure the pink didn't peep out).  I stamped the "rind" with Kleancolor Green Grass using one of the French Tips on Konad M45. The "seeds" were stamped using the polka dots from my Hello Kitty plate QA-12.  I topped it with a topcoat with Spectraflair.

Who's ready for a picnic, Konaddicts?

Hello Kitty Image Plates

Hello, Konaddicts!  My new Hello Kitty plate is here!
I decided to do a quick lineup to compare the three HK plates that I own.

B87 was my first Hello Kitty plate. I bought mine from Beautiful Scratchers.  I love this plate, and this is the one I usually use. There's not a lot of room for additional decoration since her face takes up most of the nail.

QA12 was the second plate I bought.  I bought this one on eBay without looking closely at it.  The plain HK face is missing a chin.  The other has paws  and I think the other one is making an OK sign.

I do like, but haven't tried yet, the bows, polka dots, bears, and moons and stars.  I'm more likely to go use this plate for the other designs since I'm ultimately not too fond of the HK designs themselves.

KD1 is my brand new Hello Kitty plate!  I love, love, love it!

Kitty's face is small enough to incorporate other designs.  There are also a bunny, a squirrel (is that a squirrel?), a darling purse, and full kitties in dresses!

The only thing is that one kitty's bow isn't the usual bow (you can see it in the stamp above).

I also like the lines are a little thicker and each design looks very distinct.  You can even read the word "album" on the book kitty is reading.

Aaaaa!  The amount of cuteness is killing me!

Well, if you're looking for a Hello Kitty plate, I hope this posts help you pick the one that will work best for you!

See you soon!
